Voices of Hope from Mogadishu
At this year’s World Speech Day, we are honoured to announce the participation of the Somali Awareness and Social Development Organization (SASDO), based in Mogadishu, Somalia.
SASDO is a humanitarian and development organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable and marginalized communities. Their work spans protection, education, health, water and sanitation, and programmes that empower young people, women, and persons with disabilities.
At the heart of SASDO’s mission is a simple but powerful belief: every person deserves dignity, opportunity, and access to essential services. Their vision is of a prosperous Somalia where communities are resilient, supported, and able to shape their own futures.
Through more than 50 projects, the dedication of over 300 volunteers, and partnerships with local and international organisations, SASDO has reached millions of people across Somalia. Their work strengthens human rights, builds resilience, and creates pathways to education, health, and empowerment.
On World Speech Day, SASDO’s message is clear. Speech is not only about expression — it is about representation. It is about giving voice to those who are often unheard, promoting equality, and helping communities speak their way toward peace and stability.
Their participation reminds us that the power of speech can uplift communities, strengthen hope, and inspire collective action.
Together, through listening and speaking, we move closer to a more inclusive and compassionate world.
